I took this photo several years ago on a solo trip to New York. I took the F train to the end of the line stop at Coney Island. It was mid-winter and the wind whipped across the abandoned boardwalk. I walked out to the beach and around the shuttered businesses and carnival side show attractions (Shoot The Freak?). The only people I saw were an occasional elderly Russian man or woman swaddled in her babushka, out for a brisk daily walk. It was a strange experience, being so close to the urban core of a massive city like NYC, but feeling so alone.
Foto Friday is a series where I go back through my archives to share photos that I love either because I think they are beautiful or they have an interesting story. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
