Google Reader To Be Discontinued
This is just a quick heads-up to let you know that the Google Reader service will be shut down on July 1st, 2013. Many of you use Google Reader to follow Ever In Transit and other websites and this option will no longer exist as of that date.
If you are currently using Google Reader, here are some things you should do:
1. Find a new feed reader
Prior to July 1st, you should choose an alternate blog/RSS reader and transfer your list of blogs so you don’t have to start from scratch on July 1st. Some of the popular options that allow users to import their Google reader feeds are:
- Feedly (this is what I’m using — It only took about 15 seconds to sign up and import my data from Google Reader. And they have a great iPhone app!)
- Pulse
- The Old Reader
If you have any other suggestions for alternate feed readers then please leave a comment letting me know which one you like.
2. Sign up to get all our posts by email
Another alternative is to sign up for our free weekly email that sends one email with all our posts from the week to your inbox, every Saturday morning. Click here to subscribe…
Finally, don’t forget that you can follow Ever In Transit by subscribing via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest.
I do hope that all of you that use Google Reader find a new way to follow along – I’d miss you if you disappeared!
Thanks to Gone With The Family for the idea to post this.
