I’m a very bad travel blogger. I can’t bring myself to write almost anything when I’m actually traveling, much less dig into the enormous catalog of photos we’ve taken. Right now I’m in Colombia for the very first time. I thought last night, that I could spend the night writing a blog post or I could go salsa dancing. (Then I realized I don’t have any interest in salsa dancing… neither does Kevin. So we spent the evening in the hotel watching Forrest Gump with Spanish subtitles. Not blogging). But we’ll be home tomorrow evening so more posts are coming.
Before we head off on our last day here in Bogotá, I figured I’d share some of the iPhone 5 photos I’ve taken. I’ve used my phone as my primary point and shoot camera this entire trip. I’ve been surprised by how good some of the photos are and I’ve found the camera to be the first cell phone camera I’ve had that can reasonably be considered a point and shoot camera replacement. All photos were edited on the phone only using only the built-in Apple capabilities. Note: Some photos were taken with the Pro HDR app. It’s $1.99 and well worth it.
Do you use your phone as a camera when you travel?

i like the hummingbird in the mindo foto! did you go horse riding in the mountains when you were there?
the problem with blogging while traveling is that computers can be so slow, and it’s sometimes hard to upload fotos. these are great though, and i am looking forward to more when you guys get home! have a safe trip

Definitely, internet speed and stability is a HUGE problem! We spent so much time connecting, reconnecting, moving around to try to achieve a stronger signal, it almost wasn’t worth trying! But phew, we’re home, more photos to come. BTW, clothing swap in Oakland Dec 2? I’ll send you the info…

I need to get an iPhone 5. These photos are great!!!
Cassie Kifer says
Thanks Vee! You currently have a 4, don’t you? I don’t think there is a huge difference between the cameras between the 4 and 5 so I wouldn’t upgrade until your phone breaks or dies. I upgraded from the 3S which was a BIG improvement!

I have a 4 but the quality of the pictures are terrible. I used one of my friend’s iPhone 5 camera and it was very clear… however, I’m not upgrading until my phone breaks into pieces. I refuse to succumb to the pressure… take that, Apple!

I hear you 🙂
